* Communion & Offering
We take communion weekly to remember the death of Christ for the sins of all who believe (Luke 22:19-20). Christ has commanded we remember him when we take it, and we take it as a sign of proclamation of the good news of what Christ has done, and as a sign of unity of the Church (1 Cor 11:23-33). We welcome all believers in Jesus to repent of their sin, be baptized and partake of the Lord's supper. As it is served, take both cups and reflect on what Jesus has done and examine yourself. We will take the meal together with the Elder leading communion.
Tithes & Offerings: Feel no pressure to give, but give freely to the mission of the church as God leads you to. Offerings may be placed in the Offering box. If you prefer to give online, please go to the ACC app or auburnchristian.org/give.
Acts 19:21-41
 Now after these events Paul resolved in the Spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.” 22 And having sent into Macedonia two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while.

23 About that time there arose no little disturbance concerning the Way. 24 For a man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought no little business to the craftsmen. 25 These he gathered together, with the workmen in similar trades, and said, “Men, you know that from this business we have our wealth. 26 And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods. 27 And there is danger not only that this trade of ours may come into disrepute but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis may be counted as nothing, and that she may even be deposed from her magnificence, she whom all Asia and the world worship.”

28 When they heard this they were enraged and were crying out, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!” 29 So the city was filled with the confusion, and they rushed together into the theater, dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians who were Paul's companions in travel. 30 But when Paul wished to go in among the crowd, the disciples would not let him. 31 And even some of the Asiarchs, who were friends of his, sent to him and were urging him not to venture into the theater. 32 Now some cried out one thing, some another, for the assembly was in confusion, and most of them did not know why they had come together. 33 Some of the crowd prompted Alexander, whom the Jews had put forward. And Alexander, motioning with his hand, wanted to make a defense to the crowd. 34 But when they recognized that he was a Jew, for about two hours they all cried out with one voice, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”

35 And when the town clerk had quieted the crowd, he said, “Men of Ephesus, who is there who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is temple keeper of the great Artemis, and of the sacred stone that fell from the sky? 36 Seeing then that these things cannot be denied, you ought to be quiet and do nothing rash. 37 For you have brought these men here who are neither sacrilegious nor blasphemers of our goddess. 38 If therefore Demetrius and the craftsmen with him have a complaint against anyone, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls. Let them bring charges against one another. 39 But if you seek anything further, it shall be settled in the regular assembly. 40 For we really are in danger of being charged with rioting today, since there is no cause that we can give to justify this commotion.” 41 And when he had said these things, he dismissed the assembly.

MealPack is back!

 Lifeline Christian Mission  seeks to serve the local church in many places around the world, and one of the ways they do it is thru the packing of meals to be shipped around the world. When we did this in 2023, our church packed 21,800 meals (each of those meals feeding 4 people) on a Sunday morning!

So, it is back and we are doing it again! On September 28, we are going to be packing meals, hoping to pack even more than we did in 2023. In order to do that, we are going to need about 100 volunteers. This is what we encourage you to do: sign up for a shift that Sunday, opposite from the service that you normally attend. If you normal attend 8:30, sign up for a 10 AM mealpack shift. If you normally attend 10:45, sign up for the 8:30 meal pack shift! Make a morning of it, and make a great difference for the ministries that Lifeline serves. We will have shift signup clipboards out soon for you to take a shift!

If you can't mealpack, we are also looking for donations to help. It costs us about 30 cents per meal plus transportation costs. That means doing this meal pack needs about $7500 for it to happen! So if you'd like to give a special gift to help make this happen, you can designate that to the "Mealpack". Either way, let's be praying for a great turnout and a great day of serving together on September 28!
It's about that time again for the Nemaha County and Area Community Choir to start rehearsals for our Christmas performance.  This year we will be singing selections from Handel's Messiah.  Anyone who is interested in singing with us, high school age and older, are encouraged to attend our first meeting on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 2:00 PM at the Auburn Christian Church.  Rehearsals will begin 2 or 3 weeks after that meeting.  Please plan to attend the meeting if you are interested in singing this year.  Performance date is set for Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 PM.  Contact Diane Hughes (308.883.2558) with any questions.
Trail Life & American Heritage Girls will begin gathering again on  Sept. 2.   Both groups meet the first, third, & fifth Tuesdays of the month from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Legacy Worship Center.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Matt Gall (402.315.8711) or NaTasha Gall (402.516.2222).
